How to Use This Manual:

This manual was designed to be as simple and concise as possible, so you will not be burdened with a pile of extra, useless reading and work. It is intended to direct you to the right places at the right times.

The best way to use this manual is to read the Rough Guide and then refer to the written articles and fill out the necessary forms. Anything in this manual may be photocopied and is highly Recommended.

The Preparations Checklist is designed to help you see at a glance what needs to be done and when. If you want things to run smoothly, you would be advised to copy it and refer to it frequently to ensure that things are getting done on time. Please write any necessary additions in the free spaces located at the end of each week.

The forms in this manual are intended to help you keep organised: team, itinerary, visa information, etc. Feel free to copy and use them.

Written Articles

The written articles are extended readings related to the Rough Guide. These articles provide you with more detailed information on specific topics. Also included are various handouts from other sources.

Suggestion Sheet

In order to keep this manual updated, this manual will be edited every year. We ask that you add your suggestions to the suggestion sheet found at the end of the manual. [I hope it is never edited and printed again.

At the beginning of the Forms section is a correspondence sheet. You can use this sheet to keep records of your correspondence with school leaders, your YWAM outreach location, travel agents, etc.

God Bless you on your journey!

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them everything I have commanded you. --- Matthew 28:19-20

Rough Guide

Leading an outreach can be an exciting and rewarding experience in which God uses you to help reach His ultimate purpose of building His Kingdom, particularly through encouraging the student to look into the possibility of long-term missions. It is also a time when the students are stretched spiritually and are expected to live out what they have learned on the lecture phase.

Therefore the outreach needs to be a positive experience for the students. In order to achieve this, the following points need to be kept in mind:

Limits: We should be sensitive about sending the students into places beyond their ability to cope with spiritually, emotionally, physically and even politically.

Leadership: It is vital to have well-trained leaders who take their responsibility seriously. They must be trained to become good leaders.
