From YWAMKnowledgeBase
As one of our three core activities, Training has become one of the largest. Yet how much do we know and how do we stop the leak of knowledge as people with skills and insight move on to other locations or even leave YWAM?In this section we hope to capture everything we all have ever known and understood about training. We hope it will become a resource accessible to everyone of us. Imagine having access to everything anyone has ever known.

Staff Training
Category:Staff Training: general skills/knowledge we think are important enough to teach YWAM staff members. To be built on top of DTS Training.
Colyer's Hierarchy of YWAM Staff Training
I think there are various groupings of skills that need to be taught at different levels of leadership/management
- Basic Missionary skills - being a YWAMer and being effective long term as a missionary, evangelism, cultural sensitivity etc.
- Basic leadership/management skills - leading in small groups, praying, preaching, teaching, organising, planning, outreaches etc. See: Category:BLS
- Advanced leadership/management - this can be more specialised. At this point a ywamer may make the decision to continue playing a role in a large base or branching out to starting a new team themselves -- and that is fantastic!!!!
- 3a Team leadership/management - leading a team, starting a new team, focus, strategy, communication, recruiting etc. See: Category:New Teams
- 3b School leadership/management - how to train excellently, U of N connection and ethos, training other leaders etc.
- Base leadership/management - "The greatest level of responsibility in YWAM" - Lynn Green. Visionary leadership, developmental leadership, legal knowledge and responsibility, financial management etc.
- National and Trans-National leadership/management - from responsibility to influence, training others, conflict resolution, strategic planning, communication etc.
Sullivan's Career Path Development of YWAMer
I think there are various groupings of skills that need to be taught as a ywamer grows and develops in their calling and ministry. As they love God and love the lost and hear from God and do it, they will likely progress through this series:
- Basic Missionary skills - being a YWAMer and being effective long term as a missionary, evangelism, cultural sensitivity etc.
- Basic leadership/management skills - leading in small groups, praying, preaching, teaching, organising, planning, outreaches etc. See: Category:BLS
- Advanced leadership/management - this can be more specialised
- Team leadership/management - leading a team, starting a new team, focus, strategy, communication, recruiting etc. See: Category:New Teams

- Base leadership/management - "The greatest level of responsibility in YWAM" - Lynn Green. Visionary leadership, developmental leadership, legal knowledge and responsibility, financial management etc.
- Multiplier of new teams and bases and the leaders of such. It is hoped that this stage will grow and develop much earlier and not wait for old age to set in. Multiplication
- National and Trans-National leadership/management - from responsibility to influence, training others, conflict resolution, strategic planning, communication etc.
