YWAM Videos

This page directs us to different collections of video links. The videos are hosted on youtube, google videos, godtube etc and to understand how to add videos to these pages or on the new pages that you create please read this help page.

And if you remember to include the video category on your new page it will show up here.

Yes but how do you really get a video here?

It took me about 10 hours to get the videos from camera to the ELF strategy page, it all seemed so difficult. So, perhaps to make it simpler for you, here it is.

  • I took a dozen videos with my Panasonic Camera DMC-TZ3. The videos were in a format called .mov
  • .mov videos don't upload to youtube or google videos! (have you tried renaming .mov to .avi and seeing if that does the trick - sometimes there is a simple filter on the file extension... --Kev-The-Hasty 10:06, 12 September 2008 (CEST))
  • It meant that I had to convert them into a format that could be uploaded onto those video sites.
  • hmm, there was nothing on my computer that could convert so I searched on the internet and found several free programs that promised to convert. The third one worked!!! It took hours.
  • The one that worked is called Free Video Converter and I got it from tucows the download site but you could get it from their own website www.koyotesoft.com
  • With that program open I added the files and then converted them to mp4. Although it looked like MPEG-4 The nice thing about it was that the files were small and so I didn't have to do something to them to make them smaller -- I don't know how to do that.
  • The files were saved in the same directory because I ticked a box in the parameters tab half way down the window.
  • From there it was pretty easy to upload them to youtube or google videos. I must say that I think I prefer the look of the google docs more than the youtube but I might change my mind tomorrow!
  • both google and youtube have the option of uploading multiple videos at once. Look for that option. It is also the option that allows you to upload larger files.
  • lastly I started a new page, put a table on it and followed the instructions on the help page. Actually I copied the code from the outreach video page and pasted it into my new page and then edited it!! Tada! There it is then. steve-the-not-so-hasty 12:02, 9 May 2008 (CEST)
