September 2009

This page is considered an Advert as it's primary purpose seems to be to advertise a specific school, outreach or person. The YWAM KB exists to directly equip YWAMers to do their job. There are other channels this sort of communication in YWAM. The YWAM KB's policy towards adverts that can be found here.

The following solutions are proposed:

  1. Please extend the article by explaining as much as possible about the activity on this page IN ORDER TO MULTIPLY IT, so that a YWAMer reading the page will have a clear sense of how they could do it where they are. In this case a link to a resource person or specific school becomes very relevant.
  2. Please extend the article to provide a history or the reasons for why such an activity/person or course has come to be developed. This will help other YWAMers to learn from past successes and mistakes. In this case a link to a resource person rf specific school becomes very relevant.
  3. Removal of the article. This will happen if there are no changes made to the article for a number of months

Please use the Discussion page to debate this decision and consider possible solutions.

Thanks, YWAM KB Administrators, September 2009

Community Development

Community means fellowship, interaction with each other. God is the first community developer.

Gen 1:21 God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Community development is God’s burden. It is until sin entered the earth that things changed, relationships became worse and bad.

Man and the Creation became enemy to each other, fearful and dangerous to each other. Life changed and since then man never lived a happy life.

Stewardship, injustice, integrality are some of the issues today in the world. Man was corrupted; sin entered and changed of mind from God’s mind. (Worldview)

God has not given up with His Creation and Man because His intentions and purposes for the Creation and Man was fellowship, relationship.

God is in for restoration, reconciliation between Himself and (Creation and Man).

John 3:16 for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

FCD – Foundations in Community Development is a UofN school for 6 months and 3 months for lecture phase and then outreach.

We teach God’s principles of development, going back to the original intentions and purposes of the creation. Renewing of the mind, having God’s mind.

More about the school, you are welcome to do the school with us in Jinja – Uganda. Next school starts on 7th Sept 2009.
