School of Evangelism Skien

Her and his -story

The SOE in Skien was started by a guy by the name Thomas Myrvold. He did his DTS there before going off to do a somewhat similar school in Sweden. He later married a Swede, Anna Erika, and together they lead the school for about 4 years.

Brussels in her heart

Britt Solveig Oleivsgard, who took over the job as SOE-leader, is a woman with passion, enthusiasm and determination. After her SOE, God sent her on a trip across Europe, where she got to pray in the UN building in Brussels and anoint the thresholds of prostitute windows in the Red Light District of Amsterdam. One of her long-term goals is to plant a church close to Brussels, which has a really unique place in her heart.

This school is focused on reaching Europe.

If you have a desire to reach other parts of the world; countries or people-groups, there are other SOE`s that you can take contact with.

Lecture Phase

The students will receive teaching, which will prepare them to reach people.

Its not a school that is focused around methods, but around people. What do people think about God and religion? What do they believe in? How to communicate? What does "new expressions of church" mean exactly?

Outreach

For 3 months the students will be sent out in teams to be a part of a church planting team or some other kind of pioneer evangelism ministry. The staff is not joining the outreach, and therefore the students have to be responsible themselves for making a schedule, meeting people and getting themselves up in the morning.

Costs

• Lecture Phase: 20,000 NOK (approx 2,600 EUR, 4,000 USD).
• Outreach Phase: Not included in the school-fees, depends on the outreach-location.
