Talk:Laptop Security

Simple email encryption
Many people in our mission use FirstClass. However, a lot of people recently are moving away from this system because of the fee involved. I think that the small fee is worth it, but a lot of people don't share that opinion. Perhaps it would be good to add a section concerning encryption options, both for on a laptop (files), and emails. --crashsystems
- Sounds like you have an article to write - I know nothing about this! --18:46, 26 October 2007 (CEST)
My additional notes to (email) encryption:
- Private Keys should have an password to protect it. Otherwise, everyone that can physically access your notebook can read your encrypted mails + send trusted mails to your partners.
- Depending on the strength of this password, this encryption is not really "secure": PGP is difficult to crack by design, but if the password is 'password', it wouldn't be difficult for a determined hacker. --Pitpat 21:53, 25 August 2009 (CEST)
IMO Email Encryption should be splitted into an extra article. --Pitpat 15:22, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
