About New Teams Network

  • It is for YOU!
  • It is a NETWORK - and it is for supporting and encouraging those running, starting or about to start new teams in new places.
  • It will help us re-evangelise Europe!

We currently have 4 goals

  1. How can we have 1000 new evangelism teams?
  2. What training and skills will we need to do the job well?
  3. How can we help and support each other?
  4. How can we make the VOICE of small/new teams be heard in YWAM?

Gathering: 22nd October Amsterdam.

New Teams network is a sub project of Kevin and Steve's with the aim to start 1000 new teams in YWAM.

Big bases dominate the agenda for YWAM

Big bases starting evangelism teams or op locs?

How many people have gone from one place to start something new? Not many... (YWAM England 40 years - not many)

New Team = Evangelism team, Op Loc, Base, Centre

Entry to YWAM is "Stand on the Map" - where you will go in the world for the rest of your lives. SOE then DTS before it. Now just DTS.

Herrnhut - 80 staff in 4 years - to get into the 10/40 window

"One Story Gathering" in Amsterdam - having a great story telling time. It is a cultural learning tool.

  1. Build a network
  2. How could we have 1000 teams?
  3. What training would it take to see it happen?
  4. Gain a voice

Voice of power from lots of places in YWAM - GLT, UofN etc but if we are called to reach people the voice needs to come from people doing stuff.

training / evangelism (struggle - but have more trainers than evangelists so voice of trainers is louder)

Jim Ellis - "train people and send them out is wrong" should be "train people and take them out"

Raising a voice to breach the impregnable fortress.

Training is the support for the ministry

Acts 13 - Antioch - church decides to go and reach the world! Most important churches (No pastors!)

"Left Field" - controversial and badly photographed but vital

  • Jono in Paris
  • Mike - YWAM Nice
  • Mark Vening
  • Richard Lowe
  • Yan Nicholls
  • SOE Norway
  • Lance MacKinney
  • Jonny Clark
  • Blair Middlemass
  • Debbie and Iain Bathgate
  • Jonah Bailey - YWAM Seville
  • Curtis Clewitt

People who YWAM is not helping to do what they feel God is calling them to do

How to make a strong link between new teams and big bases?

  • Heart links to base leaders - they open the doors
  • Institutional verses Dynamic - painting a banner for a week
  • Leaders in the body need to go out and get the need and taste the ministry out there then prioritising properly (not painting banners for a week)
  • Reform YWAM or revolutionise YWAM? Would the energy of engaging to reform YWAM be worth it rather than revolt!

Responsibility of smaller teams to develop relationships with other bases. Re-establishing relationships. Partnerships clearly defined. Clear communication. Can be a series of bases behind us and make needs known. Know how to help when clear needs are known. Team itself needs crystal clarity on itself and what it wants.

NTN could be iron sharpening iron - help each other define clearly what we need to do. Help teams to connect to base leaders to get to the point that leaders know what it is all about.

Define a big base in the role of YWAM.

What do we want to learn so that we can do it? What does everyone need to know to do the job?

  • Vision casting and catching!

Regular visits are vital - we cant wait until people scream for help!

What can we do to make the network happen?

  • b2b
  • pamphlets
  • welc conference
  • local ntn
  • KB
  • Shared Training Weeks
  • Take over the DTS gathering

Leadership - coming to a group of people and helping them voice their aspirations and acheive them

Putting to a context to the community and be a plumbline in your community.

Wednesday

  • With Carl talking about the WELC meet.
